You get to travel the world, ask strangers if you can take their photo... write off travel expenses, go to all the festivals and parties you want, meet interesting people and you can ask them to take their clothes off without getting slapped..... in the interests of art......
I'll get off the re-occuring nudity theme with the next job, I promise ;-)

Doo - I'm with you completely on the freelance photographer. Well, all except the naked folks - not so much my cup of tea.
But to travel and take pics and tell stories and meet crazy people - that would be a blast. Although you'd probably not ever accumulate any wealth at all - but who cares. You can't take it with you. : ))
This is my standby goal if i win a large chunk of change. Once work no longer became a concern I would grab an SLR and a plane ticket and then start snappin'.
